DriLok Mortar Additive to prevent efflorescence - 1L
Protect your cement based material from the inside out with
DriLok, a VOC free, water-based hydrophobic liquid additive.
It delivers superior resistance to moisture and efflorescence,
ensuring long-term durability for all cement-based building
materials."
DriLok integrates a permanent water repellent protection
directly into the "DNA" of the cement based bulk material
during the mixing phase.
RECOMMENDED FOR
DriLok Hydrophobic agent can be used for the water
repellent treatment for any cement based materials:
Concrete
Tile screed
Concrete moulds
Pavers, wet cast and dry pressed
Bricks
Cement Render
Fibre Cement products
Cement Roof tiles, dry pressed
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Water based, environmentally friendly
Water dilute able with clean tap water
Significant reduced water absorption
Dilution stable after thinning for up to 6 months
Salt resistant
Excellent moisture regulation
Stops efflorescence
Significant reduced algae and moss
Permeable to vapour
Frost resistant
MIXING & PREPARATION
Shake DriLok well before using. For the mixing of the DriLok
concentrate clean containers must be used. The general
dilution rate is simple: 1 part DriLok to 100 parts of water.
If a permanent protection is wanted, this must not be
compromised.
Critical Mixing Tip:
Always add the DriLok to the water first, before adding it to the
dry ingredients , screed, render, concrete, or mortar etc. This
guarantees the product is evenly distributed through the
whole batch.
A typical formulation for diluting DriLok Concentrate with water
is as follows:
1 part by volume DriLok Concentrate with
Up to 100 parts of water for bulk impregnation
Normal clean tap water must be used for the dilution.
If the formulation is used by weight, between 1.2 liter and
1.80 liter DriLok concentrate should be used for 1 cubic meter
of concrete.
This volume recommendations are guidelines only. Dry
pressed concrete and pavers require a lower amount of the
DriLok / water solution
Application Requirements
• Temperature: During application and the initial
drying phase, ambient temperatures should
remain above +4°C (41°F).
• Drying Time: Duration will vary depending on
local humidity, temperature, and specific surface
conditions.
• Protection: Ensure the mix is protected from rapid
water loss during the early stages of the curing
process to maintain structural integrity.
